I've been writing for over twenty years, but my love for it goes back much further than that. I've always believed that even negative experiences can be expressed with professionalism and grace, that honest words, delivered thoughtfully, have the power to spark real, positive change. Reviewing places and products isn't just something I enjoy, it's something I'm genuinely passionate about. It gives me a vehicle to express myself honestly while handing readers the kind of insight that actually matters: the type that makes you feel confident about where you're spending your time and, just as importantly, your money. I'm drawn to people from all walks of life. Diversity isn't just something I respect, it's something I find endlessly interesting. When you approach people with curiosity instead of judgment, respect comes naturally.

Comfrt Clothing became one of my top hoodie choices about two years ago and nearly knocked my number one off the podium. The style, design, and feel are hard to beat — you can wear them extra baggy or fitted and they always look great. They just seem to flow with your mood, which honestly suits their name perfectly. The variety is a real strength. Comfrt offers a broad line of everyday wear — whether you're working out or keeping it casual — with tons of colors, styles, and fits to choose from. Some pieces make a bold statement with a print across the chest; others keep it subtle with a small badge near the waistband. And their Airplane Mode hoodie is genuinely one of a kind — if you haven't seen it yet, hop on their website. It's worth the look. Sizing runs true to fit, which I appreciate. On price, I think the clothing itself is fairly valued. The shipping, however, feels a little steep — it comes across like they're recouping costs there, though I can't say for certain. Which brings me to the discomfort of Comfrt Clothing. My biggest issue — and it's a real one — is the shedding. It's not just a little lint. These hoodies shed aggressively and consistently, no matter how many times you wash them or run a lint shaver over them. They'll leave a mess on your undershirt, inside your washing machine, and on everything around you. I own a lot of their pieces, and I genuinely have to be in the right mood to deal with it. Comfrt, if you're reading this — you have something special here, but this needs to be addressed. Check my photos. That's exactly what it looks like. Overall, Comfrt Clothing sits just above budget-friendly, is genuinely comfortable, and offers unique, head-turning designs that give you a real sense of personality and fun. They have the potential to be one of the best clothing lines out there. If they fix the shedding, there's no reason they can't be number one.

**Topgolf Murray: Still One of the Valley's Best Nights Out** Topgolf in Murray is one of the most fun venues in the Salt Lake Valley. It's easy to get to, and the wide-open layout gives you spectacular views looking north across the valley the entire time you're playing. The multi-level facility doesn't disappoint, and each floor has its own energy. They've recently added arcades on several levels, which keeps everyone entertained while they wait their turn, or gives anyone who needs a break from golf something fun to do. Seating comes down to personal preference: sectionals or tabletops. I used to go for the sectionals, but lately I've switched to the tabletops. They're wide, comfortable, and I never feel crowded. Service has been consistently great. From the front desk to the servers to management, no one has ever let me down. The food is where things have slipped. The menu has changed over the years, which is normal for a thriving business, but the flavor has changed too. I still enjoy the burger, the chicken sandwich, and the occasional pizza. They're not bad, just not as good as they used to be, and the care in the kitchen seems a little off. On this visit, my grilled chicken sandwich had about a third of a chicken breast, and two-thirds of that was burnt. I ate it because I was hungry, and the bread and sauces saved it, but it definitely wasn't their best. Overall, the food is fair and fits the atmosphere. When you go you'll definitely want to try their donut holes and inject them with some of their delicious filler, you can't go wrong with that combo. Plus, they're just a lot of fun. Where Topgolf really shines is the variety of games, which keep everyone in your group involved and having a great time. I've never left disappointed, and I doubt you will either.

George's Corner Restaurant in St. George has a lot going for it. It sits in a great location, the place is clean, and it is clear that management cares. There was one occasion where we had an issue with our order and the manager went out of his way to make it right. That kind of ownership says a lot. The hostesses have always been pleasantly friendly, and the rest of the staff follow suit — everyone you encounter here is warm and easy to deal with. The restaurant has a rustic Southern Utah style and feel that is warm and inviting. We have dined both inside and on the patio, and on the right day the patio is my personal favorite — though seating is limited so it depends on your timing and preference. The tables and seating are functional and comfortable enough, though I do think it is an area they could invest a little more into. The menu runs from breakfast to dinner, and I have tried several dishes over multiple visits. They are consistently good — not the kind of meal that will have you talking about it on the drive home, but satisfying and honest. I believe the menu in general is pretty basic of what you'd expect to see at a generalized restaurant. Their chocolate shakes, however, are genuinely worth mentioning. Pretty darn good, and I think most chocolate shake lovers would agree. If you are passing through St. George or spending a few days down there, George's Corner is a solid stop for a relaxed meal with people you enjoy. Grab a shake, take a stroll around the shopping center it sits in, and enjoy the setting. It may not be the most memorable meal you have ever had, but it is a comfortable, well-run place that is absolutely worth a visit.

The Las Vegas Sphere is a modern-day sui generis — a construct unlike anything the world has ever seen. People travel from every corner of the globe to experience shows and entertainment in a way they never have before. The imagery on its outer dome gives spectators an inner feeling of oohs and ahs that they simply cannot pull away from. They say the screen can even be seen through cameras from the International Space Station. Lucky for us, we get to see it up close and personal. If you are more than a fifteen-minute walk away, I would recommend a rideshare or simply driving — there is great parking at the Sphere and it is easy to get in and out. Either way, you will want to save your energy for what is inside. The first thing my wife and I noticed was how friendly the staff was. Nobody was annoyed with questions. We were greeted with a warm smile and a genuine "have a great time" — and sent off with the same courtesy on the way out. We went to see The Wizard of Oz, and we definitely were not in Kansas anymore. Walking into the atrium, you will have plenty to look at and you will feel that same sense of excitement you used to get as a kid riding a big roller coaster for the first time. One important thing to know: your tickets may say no entrance after the start time. That means you cannot enter the Sphere itself — not the auditorium. We did not know this and were rushing, which cost us the chance to properly browse the concessions. We grabbed a rainbow Oz-themed popcorn on the way in — it is small but delicious, and if you are a light snacker it will last you throughout the show — but some of those other concessions looked amazing, and I would have loved the time to actually enjoy them. This is one of those things that would have been highly useful to know going in. We sat in section 305 and were both taken aback by how high up we were and how steep the incline is. If you get motion sick easily or are sensitive to heights, sit lower — even if it costs a little more. The screen surrounding you and the movement of the imagery will absolutely affect you at that elevation. The screen itself is nothing short of amazing. The sound quality is out of this world — bring earplugs if you are sensitive. It is deeply immersive, and the entertainment factor is exceptionally high. For as many times as I have watched The Wizard of Oz, I genuinely enjoyed this version of it the most. I left feeling slightly less enthusiastic than when I entered. The experience is awesome, but I do not feel it is worth full price — and I think most people would agree. Discount tickets are out there if you look, and I strongly recommend finding one before you go. Everything about the Sphere is worth visiting at a discounted rate. It earns you legitimate bragging rights, and rightfully so. But I will honestly say my favorite moment of the entire experience was watching it glow from my balcony.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in Las Vegas is one of the absolute best places to eat on the Strip. Its location is perfect for their open-spaced, high-rise patio — there is nothing like breathtaking views of city life and its nighttime lights from above while enjoying the day's best meal. Since the restaurant sits a second level above the Strip, there is ADA access in the gift shop. If you can't find it, simply ask a worker and they'll point you to it. Coming into the restaurant from the stairwell, you will find enriched walls of memorabilia — characters and scenes from Forrest Gump. The feeling is inviting and fun, and reminiscent of all things throughout the movie that made us laugh and cry. We came on one of the least busy nights of the week at a less busy hour, so seating was almost instant. The staff — from the hostess to the server and busser — were all exceptionally friendly. Our server Thomas was beyond helpful and accommodating. We really wanted to sit on the patio that evening, but due to high winds they shut it down, so he went out of his way to find us the next best seat in the house. Settling into our table, I couldn't help but feel like I was eating a meal on the Bubba Gump fishing boat. The decor is reminiscent of a sailor's quarters. The tables are well spaced and the booths are private enough to keep your focus on your own conversation and not your neighbors. The menu offers a large variety of dishes — my favorite being the Alabama chicken pasta. I don't know how they cook their chicken, and I did ask Thomas if he had any insight. His response was that he has been trying to get that recipe himself for over a year. The Alabama chicken pasta is so good. It is the best grilled chicken I have ever had — that flavor is to die for — and the sauce is a perfect blend of viscosity and taste that complements the noodles perfectly. My wife loves their strawberry salad and substitutes the chicken with their Cajun shrimp. When that comes out and gets placed in front of you, it is beautiful. Instant mouth-watering. Bubba Gump gave us 90 minutes of dining pleasure on top of the Las Vegas Strip without all the hassle and chaos of a Vegas night. It offered us beautiful views, a cozy atmosphere, and a savory meal that made us feel like the only two people on the Las Vegas Strip.

Vasa Gym's Sandy location is somewhat of a mecca for Vasa gyms throughout the valley. The parking is plentiful and spread out — but it can still get crowded during peak hours, which is honestly a testament to how popular this place is. The facility itself is laid out almost perfectly, in my opinion. From the front desk to the side sitting areas, everything has its place and it just works. The cardio center is well-arranged and boasts plenty of space and equipment to give everyone the variety we all crave. On a side note — the ventilation throughout this entire facility is exceptional, especially in the cardio area. That can be a lifesaver when the person running next to you may have forgotten to wash their gym shorts. The stretching areas are magnificent. Large, with exceptionally comfortable padding to lay on, and plenty of space to move freely. There are two of them, placed separately throughout the gym (split by an artificial turf section) each with weight racks stocked with pull-up bars, heavy bags, kettlebells, free weights, plates, stretching bars, and more. They also have any closed "cage" area for personal training sessions. The free weight center is quite large. The dumbbells go from nearly nothing to a weight that very few people will ever lift — and they're all in mint condition and feel great to use. That said, for as big as the free weight area is, it still gets crowded during peak hours and could use a few more benches. The machine area has recently gotten new leg equipment, and it's highly used — most likely because of the functional movement and isolation each piece provides. Overall, they have an array of machines that target every area of your body in a productive and satisfying way. Cleansing wipes are plentiful throughout the gym as well, which helps keep things clean and germs low. The full-size basketball court is beautifully laid out and tends to get busy in the later evenings. There's also a swimming pool and hot tub that are almost always full of life — sometimes laps, sometimes a water aerobics class. Whatever's going on in there, it's being used, which is more than you can say for some gyms. One of my favorite spots — I call it the dungeon — is the leg area tucked down in a cubby. Several squat racks, deadlifting platform, and an overall old-school bodybuilding atmosphere. The facility also includes an aerobic studio and three separate studios offering everything from spin classes to circuit training and yoga. That's just the tip of the iceberg. There's a comfortable massage area with two water massagers and three anti-gravity chairs, each with a TV in front of them — a great spot to relax and recover. There's a red light therapy room as well, though it tends to be out of service more often than it should be. Hopefully that gets addressed. They also carry clothing, supplements, and drinks at the front desk. Now, for the things that need work: the locker rooms are not particularly clean and feel a bit outdated. They do have private showers and private changing rooms, which is a nice touch for comfort, but the overall appeal leaves something to be desired. I also have to be honest about management. I've approached them more than once about staff not keeping up with sanitary wipes, overflowing trash, and general attention to detail. Instead of staying on top of those things, staff members can sometimes be found deep in personal conversations — to the point where they forget to greet you when you walk in or say goodbye when you leave. That's not every staff member, but word around the gym is they could use a fine-tune on customer service. Regardless, if your workouts take you to different places and you enjoy a variety of exercises to keep your body in tip-top shape, Vasa Sandy could absolutely be your go-to gym in the Salt Lake Valley.

Nathan's Famous at the New York, New York Casino should be a vacationer's go-to spot for one of the best cheesesteak sandwiches you'll ever have. They've got tons of delicious-looking food behind the counter and a menu full of options — and of course, they're known for their hot dogs. But I cannot, nor will I for the life of me, pass by that melt-in-your-mouth cheesesteak. The restaurant sits at the top of the casino floor after you get off the north-side escalator. The seating is tucked back and makes for great people-watching while you enjoy your food. The chairs are comfortable, the décor leans into a '50s/'60s diner theme, and some of the artwork is straight out of the streets of New York. The overall vibe is nostalgic in the best way. The service impressed me too. When I had questions about the cheesesteak, the cashier actually brought the cook to the counter — and he answered every question thoroughly and politely. Little moments like that go a long way. For being inside a casino, it didn't smell like cigarettes or a casino floor, and the place was genuinely clean — which tells me a lot about how well it's managed. I enjoyed every minute of being there with my wife. Something about the atmosphere brought out warm, easy conversation that felt just as good as the food. The fries aren't exactly a destination on their own, but they complement the meal well enough to earn their spot on the plate. The cheesesteak, though? That's the whole reason to stop in but you may find your reasoning in their tasty pizza, other deliciously looking menu options and of course, their world famous hot dogs. If you're ever passing through the New York, New York Hotel and Casino and feeling a little hungry — stop. Get the cheesesteak. You won't regret it, and your taste buds will love you for it.

Bartolo's in Sugar House is my go-to and absolute favorite spot when I'm in the mood for authentic Italian food. Every meal I've eaten here has been exceptional in appearance, smell, texture, and — most importantly — taste. And what makes all of this already great food even more delightful is, of course, the atmosphere. From the more traditionally sized Utah streets, you'll find Bartolo's nestled along a narrower side street that adds to the feeling of Italy the moment you arrive. Dine on the lit covered patio and you'll catch the occasional sound of cars passing by, couples strolling the sidewalk beside you, even the rhythmic footsteps of a jogger — each one somehow perfectly placed alongside the delicious flavors arriving at your table. Bartolo's has a way of making the whole world feel like a backdrop to your meal. This restaurant has genuinely captured something special from the old country and brought it to the Rocky Mountains for our enjoyment. Inside, you'll find traditional-style seating reminiscent of Rome — a functional layout that gives you and your party the intimacy for real conversation. Italian culture views sharing a meal as a profound act of love, family bonding, and daily social ritual. The food here makes those values easy to understand, because if you're anything like me, sharing something this delicious with the people you love comes naturally. The cleanliness of the entire place is exceptional — every surface, every corner reflects a standard of care that tells you this team takes real pride in what they do. The staff matches that energy completely. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to walk you through the menu if you have questions, they go out of their way to make sure you feel taken care of without ever feeling rushed. Even the water service is a detail worth noting — it arrives in a tall communal canister poured into individual metal cups, a small touch that somehow feels both rustic and refined, and very much in the spirit of the place. Start your meal with the artichoke dip. It arrives with focaccia bread that is, frankly, extraordinary — the two complement each other impeccably. My personal favorites among the entrées are the Rigatoni Bolognese, the Chicken Parmigiana, and the Pork Chop Marsala. Each one is a surefire way to send every sense skyward and leave you feeling like a Roman emperor. One word of advice: if you're serious about dessert, consider ordering it early. A starter you can't put down followed by an entrée unlike any other will have you full and satisfied well beyond your expectations — and the tiramisu trifle deserves its moment. Bartolo's also does brunch (the blueberry pancakes are worth the trip on their own) and has a kids menu, making it a place the whole table can love. From the colorful full bar to the viewable open kitchen, from the thoughtful building itself to the warmth you feel the moment you pull into the parking lot — Bartolo's really is a little slice of Italy. Straordinario.

A New Day Spa in Murray is, without a doubt, my favorite place to find restoration — and I don't use the word "favorite" lightly. The moment you walk in, the cleanliness alone sets the tone. This place is immaculate in a way that tells you everyone here takes their craft seriously. Their menu of services reads like a full wellness playbook: chiropractic care, a highly experienced team of aesthetic injectors offering Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Xeomin and fillers (who take the time to consult with you and make sure you're completely comfortable before any procedure), laser hair removal, IV drips (exceptionally well priced and yes, they come with a free massage), nails, facials, and massages spanning prenatal, aromatherapy, couples, hot stone, deep tissue, and classic — because sometimes all you need is a solid, no-frills rubdown and that is perfectly valid here. Their massage packages are priced in a way that makes regular self-care feel like a realistic lifestyle rather than a splurge. If you're looking for more, their spa packages will take care of you and your partner in all the right ways. A massage and facial — or both, with a pedi thrown in — will unruffle every feather and have you steam-pressed back into whatever version of yourself you've been missing. Prefer a great massage followed by a great dinner? Their couples massage package includes a $50 dinner gift card. VIP members save over $100 on these packages, which frankly sells itself. But here's what elevates A New Day above every other spa I've visited in the Salt Lake Valley: the people. The owner goes out of her way to ensure every single person who walks through that door receives top-tier treatment, and the staff carries that same energy. They want your comfort maxed out at check-in and they're not satisfied until you leave feeling genuinely rejuvenated — not just relaxed, but restored. I've been to health spas my entire life. This one is a gem. The variety of care, the quality, and the owner's mission to make that care accessible to as many people as possible makes it nearly impossible to justify not going at least once. You don't have to take my word for it — but you really should. The good life is closer than you think.

I've been coming to this Wendy's location for the past five years. I've had some really great meals here and, sure, a few orders that missed the mark. What keeps me coming back — aside from the convenience — is that management here has always made things right. There was one time I was so frustrated I didn't even want my food redone. I just wanted my money back. The manager said she completely understood and, through all of my frustration, took my phone number and kept reassuring me she was going to "make this right." A few days later, the owner of the store called me personally and did exactly that. He was sincere, patient, and gave me the time and space to get everything off my chest. After that phone call, I have not had a poor experience there to this day. My food is always done right, and if I special order anything, they nail it. That speaks volumes about this specific location and how it's managed. The service is friendly and, 99% of the time, fast as a fast food chain. The food tastes fresh — my special order grilled chicken ranch wrap is honestly one of my favorite meals of the week. The few times I've eaten inside, the place has been clean throughout: warm and cozy in the winter, cool and easy in the summer. They also have one of the best patio setups I've seen at any fast food chain. The umbrellas are the kind of detail that actually makes eating outside feel worth it, whether you're alone or with company. Other Wendy's locations could take notes. If you're ever in the area, stop in and enjoy a Wendy's meal the way it was meant to be eaten.

Thunder Wash Car and Pet Wash

This Thunder Wash car wash is conveniently located off Highland in Sandy, thanks to its cramp-free, open space in front of the Fiesta Village shopping center. It offers three fairly large manual wash stalls, a soft-touch automatic wash, and a touch-free Razor wash — which is my favorite. There's also a highly effective dog wash with two enclosed doggie bays on the east end of the building. The manual bays are standardized and offer pretty much the same options as most other car washes. The nozzle pressure is perfect, in my opinion. It's not weak — so you're not annoyed having to add more time and money to your card — but it's also not so abrasive that you're questioning whether you're damaging your paint. It's the closest you're going to get to perfect pressure for everything from a little bit of dirt to trucks covered in mud. The soft-touch automatic is, by far, my least favorite thing about this place. It cleans your vehicle really well, but falls short on the rinse cycle and air dryer. I have taken four different vehicles through it and every one has left with soap still soaking toward the back quarter. The air dryer has also been known to shut off halfway through — I've contacted the owner on more than one occasion about this. He has addressed it at times, but the problem keeps coming back. It's a great option if your vehicle is unusually dirty; otherwise, I'd go with the touch-free wash instead. The touch-free hits your vehicle all around, offers different packages to get it as clean and shiny as you want, and the dryers do a noticeably better job — the overall finish just looks better. The vacuums are ridiculously strong and come with an angled nozzle for tight-fitting places and a wider nozzle for faster, more effective carpet and seat cleaning. The dog wash is a newer addition and I love that it's enclosed. If your dog loves a bath, they'll absolutely love this wash — and it's still going to be less expensive than a groomer and a fun bonding experience for the whole family. Pricing from the manual washes to the automatics can be somewhat cheaper than other places depending on which packages you choose. There's also a membership that gives you a discount — a solid option for those who love keeping their vehicles clean. Overall, Thunder Wash is on the right track and offers some great options. Once they get those soft-touch bugs figured out, it will definitely be five stars all the way.

This Cinemark has an ample amount of uncovered parking with adequate lighting to keep you feeling safe and leaving your car worry-free. The lobby area smells like traditional, yummy Cinemark popcorn — it really helps you shift gears from daily life and places you in the perfect mood for an enjoyable movie experience. Where they fall short, like most Cinemarks here in Utah, is on their concessions. Although the popcorn and kettle corn are quite delicious, the pizza is a far distant friend from good, and the food selection is almost non-existent. The pretzel bites are good — not spectacular — and the nachos fall beneath those of your local gas station. My advice is to have dinner before you arrive. There's plenty of yummy candy and soda to keep most moviegoers happy. Walking through the poster-themed hallway, I couldn't help but notice how clean everything was. It prompted me to check the restrooms — they were a spot-on match to the cleanliness of the rest of the theater. After locating our screen and settling in, I found the seating just as clean and comfortable. Cinemark seats offer comfortable heated seating. The reclining chairs are a near-perfect soft, but the fully reclined position can place you in a slightly awkward spot that takes up some valuable movie time before finding that much desired comfortable position. The universal reclining position isn't the best, and unfortunately that earns Cinemark a minor ding on their rating. The screening rooms are comfortable in size with adequate spacing of each row. Because of the divider wall behind each row, it creates an enjoyable privacy that places you in front of the screen like you're the only one there. Let's face it — there are far too many people on their phones during movies these days. It's distracting and can become highly irritating. The divider walls eliminate that frustration, and I love it. The sound quality was fantastic and the visuals are just the same. The screen is larger than life. It works its magic to immerse you into the movie, placing you right in the center of the wonderful world of film. The photos show the standard sized movie houses with the exception of the entrance to the XD screen. The video clip shows the XD screen itself! They've done an excellent job at keeping this Cinemark one of my favorite places to catch a movie in the Salt Lake Valley. A much deserved thank you to management and staff for caring about this movie house. Great job!

Peak Pickleball Club in Draper, UT is a phenomenal place to play pickleball. The courts are spacious, the facility is well ventilated, and the members bring a friendly, challenging energy that keeps everyone smiling and playing their best game. From the get-go, you'll appreciate the spacious parking. It feels private and safe. Members can access the club after hours with a Bluetooth app from their phone. When you walk in, the front desk staff will greet you like you've been coming here for years. Their pro shop offers a healthy selection of paddles, some pickleballs, and a lineup of Peak's activewear. There's a beverage selection as well. All of the courts are spacious. There's some debate about court 8 because of its seclusion — some people say the east side wall is too close to the court, while others really love the privacy. The walls around all of the courts are padded halfway up for safety purposes. The courts use an outdoor-style playing surface that gives you optimal grip while playing. The fences sit far enough off the court boundaries that you'll hardly notice they're there. There's a recovery room as well. Both the men's and women's restrooms offer lockers with an exceptionally clean environment. The gathering areas range from a leather sofa and chairs placed in a corner nook with a television, to tables and chairs spaced throughout the center of the facility. There's also wooden benches placed between the fences on courts 1-5. They play fun music that really gets you moving while you play. There's a unique vibe here, and it hits you right away: community, new friendships, trust. It's not always about the competition or how well you play — though it can absolutely be that here too. I'd recommend giving Peak Pickleball Club a shot, preferably a "drop shot." From the friendly front desk staff to the pro instructors and quite possibly the best members a health club has ever had, you'll enjoy being here just as much as you enjoy being on vacation.
