The only review that means something is one written by someone who was actually there.
ReView Me Right was built on a simple belief: a business review should be written by a real person who showed up, experienced what the business offers, and told the truth about it. No exceptions.
The problem with reviews today
Online reviews are broken. Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor allow anyone with an account to leave a review — whether they visited the business or not. Competitors use this to post fake negative reviews against rivals. Marketing agencies sell packages of five-star reviews to businesses willing to pay. Review bombing — coordinated attacks by strangers who never set foot inside a business — wipes out years of a restaurant or salon's hard-earned reputation overnight.
The Federal Trade Commission estimated that fake reviews cost consumers and businesses billions of dollars annually. In 2024, the FTC finalized a rule making fake reviews explicitly illegal, with fines up to $51,744 per violation. The problem was serious enough that the federal government had to act.
Utah small businesses deserve better. Their customers deserve better. That is why ReView Me Right exists.
What ReView Me Right does differently
Every reviewer on ReView Me Right goes through an identity verification process before they are approved. We verify their government-issued ID. We review their application. We approve them as a community reviewer — or we do not. There is no anonymous account creation, no fake profiles, no bots.
When a business lists an experience on the platform, a vetted reviewer claims that listing and visits in person, using a unique promo code to book. The reviewer pays nothing out of pocket — the business has prefunded the visit through an experience fund held in escrow. After the visit, the reviewer writes an honest account of what they experienced. A human editor reads the review before it goes live. We do not publish reviews that contain false factual claims. We also do not remove reviews just because a business disagrees with the rating.
The result is a public review profile that both businesses and consumers can trust. Businesses get a verified reputation asset they can embed on their website, share on social media, and point to as proof. Consumers get an honest account from someone who was actually there.
How the platform works
A business lists an experience
The business describes what they are offering — a dinner for two, a spa service, a guided experience — and sets the visit value. They pay a flat $99 listing fee and fund the reviewer's visit in escrow. The listing goes live within 48 hours.
An ID-verified reviewer claims it
One of our approved community reviewers selects the listing. They call ahead with a unique promo code to book their visit, arrive on time, and experience exactly what the business described. Nothing is staged. Nothing is scripted.
An honest review goes live
The reviewer writes their honest account. A human editor reviews it for accuracy before it publishes. The business's public profile updates automatically, and they receive an embeddable verified badge for their website.
Our commitments
No paid positive reviews
Businesses pay for a reviewer's visit — never for a positive outcome. Reviewers are independent and write what they honestly experienced.
No anonymous reviewers
Every reviewer is ID-verified before they join. Their identity is on file even when we publish under a display name.
Human moderation
Every review is read by a human editor before it goes live. We check for accuracy, not tone.
FTC compliance
All reviewer relationships are disclosed and governed by agreements that comply with FTC endorsement guidelines.
No fake or suspicious review tolerance
Businesses on the platform agree to cease any fake or suspicious review activity. We pursue legal remedies against violators.
Honest negative reviews stay
We do not pull reviews because a business is unhappy with the rating. Honest criticism is part of a trustworthy system.
