The Tea Grotto
Free Review
Tea fans rejoice! If you are looking for an engaging tea experience, the Tea Grotto is the place to be. As someone who doesn't drink caffeine, they had a large assortment of herbal teas for me to choose from (they had an equally as large assortment of caffeinated teas). You can also smell any tea you'd like before deciding. After smelling several, I settled on a Gingerbread Rooibos that felt appropriate for the season. A pot of tea ranges from $7–$9 depending on the blend, and gets you exactly that—a pot of tea. This pot comes with two free refills steeped in the same leaves. A side of milk was .75 cents, and came with free refills of milk. They have milk alternatives, such as soy, almond, and oat. Sugar, honey, and agave were all free for me to grab. In addition to loose-leaf tea, they offer matcha and boba teas. There are also small plates and baked goods, including tea-infused options. I'm intrigued by the tea-infused edamame. They sell their tea blends to take home, which I love and will be looking into. I'm always looking for loose-leaf teas. They also sell tea cups and pots. The service was excellent when I went. They brought over my pot, cup, and milk, and every time I needed a refill I took my pot up and they re-steeped my tea and brought it back over to me when I was ready. I went around noon on a weekday, and started as the only person in the shop, but it picked up around two. I brought a book to read while I drank my tea. The interior is very quaint and cozy, which made for an enjoyable experience. This is the sort of place that would be nice to bring a friend and catch up for several hours. You could easily split a pot of tea with a friend, though I enjoyed having a whole pot to myself. I wouldn't want to have a very large group here, but if you are looking for an enjoyable and relaxing tea experience, I highly recommend the Tea Grotto.
