Signature Full-Day Spa Retreat

Serenity Spa deserves its name completely. I arrived for the full-day retreat somewhat skeptical โ€” I have visited many spas that promise transformation and deliver a decent massage and a cucumber water. Serenity delivered something altogether different: a genuine reset of the nervous system. The thermal journey begins on arrival. The facility includes a Finnish sauna, a steam room infused with eucalyptus, a cold plunge pool, and a heated relaxation pool with chromotherapy lighting โ€” each transitioning naturally to the next as your body acclimates. I spent forty minutes here before my first treatment and arrived at the massage table already deeply unwound. My therapist Marco delivered a ninety-minute deep tissue massage that was one of the most technically skilled I have received in years of reviewing wellness experiences. He began with a thorough consultation about tension points, adjusted pressure three times at my request without any change in attitude, and finished with a ten-minute scalp treatment that I did not expect but will now require at every future visit. The hydrating facial that followed used product lines I was unfamiliar with but researched afterward โ€” all clean, cruelty-free formulations with clinical-grade actives. My skin looked visibly different for three days. Lunch arrived mid-day in the relaxation lounge: a beautifully plated grain bowl with roasted vegetables and a lemon-tahini dressing, alongside house-pressed green juice.

La Bella Vista Restaurant

Sunday Brunch Experience

Sunday brunch in Miami has fierce competition, but La Bella Vista offering stands genuinely apart from the crowd. Arriving at 11 AM on a recent Sunday, I was met with the sound of live jazz โ€” a three-piece ensemble positioned perfectly between the main dining room and the terrace โ€” and an aroma that immediately made me regret skipping breakfast. The buffet layout is thoughtful and abundant. A fresh seafood station anchors one end, with stone crab claws, oysters on the half shell, and chilled shrimp cocktail that were each impeccably fresh. The made-to-order omelette station had a genuine chef rather than a line cook โ€” he remembered that I wanted extra chives without being reminded. Bottomless mimosas are a common brunch staple, but here they use fresh-squeezed orange juice and a brut champagne that actually belongs in a champagne flute rather than a plastic cup. The difference is immediate and worth mentioning. The pastry section deserves its own paragraph. Almond croissants, kouign-amann, a fruit tart that looked more like a gallery piece โ€” all made in-house daily. I spoke briefly with the pastry chef and learned that everything is baked by 6 AM each Sunday. That dedication shows in every bite. My one mild note: the terrace seating fills quickly and the indoor tables, while lovely, sacrifice the Miami morning light.
